The Art of Bingo
Thursday, January 28, 2010
As part of an ongoing intergenerational initiative, Hillside students recently learned the art of Bingo strategy thanks to members of the Marlborough Council on Aging.
The students were schooled in their Bingo skills during a January 22 visit to the Marlborough Senior Center. The seniors who are regulars at the center’s Friday evening Bingo game graciously offered time-honored tips and techniques for success at this popular board game.
The Hillside students proved to be quick learners with several of them taking home Bingo prizes. Afterwards, the experience garnered positive reviews from the young participants. “It was a lot of fun,” said Chris Coughlin ’12 about the game, “I’d like to do it again.”
“It was a great way for members of these two generations to interact and get to know each other better,” noted Hillside School Chaplain Abby Pettee. “We’re very excited about participating in similar events in the near future.”
