Athletics Game Update: Cross Country
Thursday, October 29, 2009
The English novelist, Alan Sillitoe wrote, “It’s a treat being a long distance runner.” On October 14, rivals Bancroft and Applewild Schools came to test themselves on Hillside’s new Krasnow Course.
With the ninth grade away, Justin Karas ’11 and Hunter Cochran ’11 led the way to convincing wins.
Although the boys couldn’t seem to decide who should finish first or second, they realized a fast young Bancroft runner was on their heels and sprinted to the win.
The entire team showed remarkable improvement in their times from the previous week. Joey Mullaney ’11, Alex Lin ’11 and Sam Bristol ’12 continue to gain both speed and confidence. It was a day for victory and pride for a team in a race well run.

Justin Karas ’11 takes the lead in the October 14 competition against Bancroft and Applewild schools.
