Hillside welcomes new students

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Students new to Hillside and their families received a special welcome at the recent “New Students Cookout” on September 2.

Several fun and imaginative activities enabled these new students and their families to be more familiar and comfortable about becoming members of the Hillside School community.

In particular, a campus-wide scavenger hunt proved to be a big hit with the incoming students. Through the hunt, these students joined with faculty in indentifying buildings, people and events associated with Hillside School.

While the students were busy canvassing the campus, their parents heard from Headmaster David Z. Beecher about Hillside’s commitment to educating their sons.

“We promise to work with your sons with great patience, great understanding and incredible determination,” stated Headmaster Beecher.

The event concluded with a festive barbecue and plenty of summer fun as Hillside’s newest students enjoyed the school’s outdoor pool.
